"Painting is a blind man's profession. He paints not what he sees but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen." - Picasso, Pablo

Can you tell us a few words about yourself?

My name is Varduhi Baghdasaryan. I am from Armenia. I am 31 years old. I am artist.

How did you fall into the world of artists? When was the first time you thought you wanted to deal with this?

My parents are the same artists. My mother is a sculptor and my father is a painter. When I graduated from high school. I entered the Graphic Design Institute. Then I worked in this for 2 years. I also studied painting at the art university. I have a master's degree in painting.

What work method do you use? What creative path have you taken so far?

I am a painter. I work mainly with acrylic paints. In oil painting technique.

You do several workflows on a project, but what is closest to you? How would you define yourself?

I have been working as an art teacher in college for 5 years. I take orders for paintings. I am planning an exhibition of my works.

What aspects do you consider important during the creative process?

Everything is important in the celebration. Environment, inspiration, love of art, good music, time, money to work and improve skills, quality of work.

How would you define your own style? Was it difficult to take the first steps?

My work style is the beauty of what I doing. I getting happiness and motivation to do my work. My first difficult was the lack of motivation, because I was born into the family's surrounded by artists. So I already felt like I had seen and heard everything about painting work. But I took a lot of courage and motivation to launch it and find my place with my own style in all this artists who where around me.

Can we talk about the technical side? What techniques and tools do you use in your projects? What equipments are you currently working on?

As I said, I use acrylic paints and since they are versatile they can easily work on different materials. I paint on wall, on fabric, on wood and on canvas. I usually use different sized brushes.

Inspiration is very important in art. What inspires you, what are the things that inspire you?

To be honest, life and music are my main source of motivation.

Could you tell us a little more about what you have learned so far? Have you pursued any studies that have helped / facilitated your current career?

I learning everything with my work and my style, because every new paint is a new story for me who help and facilitate my carreer.

How typical is instinct for your work? How do you get started with a work, could you describe the process? What do you need to create?

It depends on what I am drawing, if it is a portrait, then I personally use a photo of this person, but I also change or add something from myself. I buy a blank and put it on a cardboard or wooden frame. Let the work begin with music. This is the music that tells me what colors I should use in my paintings. The music also depends on what I paint. if it is a children's portrait, then I listen to some music; if the landscape, then the music should be romantic. Because the music tunes us to the pasitive notes.

Which part of your work do you like the most? What do you like to create best?

The part that I like the most about my job, is the last little touch-ups of my work, because at this precise moment I have the impression of having accomplished my task, of having achieved what I wanted.

Your work is strikingly different in style from the main striking directions. What could you most liken your art to? Do you consciously shape your own style?

Yes, you are right, my works are different because my style is shaped by the music itself. And I often mix different painting styles. This process is unconscious. The style of my work is created thanks to the music and the feeling that I get when painting. I can say that while working, I move away from reality.

Could you give an example where random discoveries have affected your creations?

I can walk in the city. I will see some flowers or colors that give me thoughts new ideas for my painting.

If there was no barrier to money, what would you like to deal with?

I would like to do my art by traveling all over the world. There are so many beautiful places in the world that I would like to explore colors. Cultures of various nationalities urge me to create new works. Sometimes I feel that I do not belong to the same nationality. It is as if different people of different cultures live in me.

How do you have fun, what does this concept mean to you?

I listen to music, enjoy food, try to travel as much as possible, spend time with my families. I take care of my garden. Sometimes I just lie on the couch.

If we want to get to know your creations better, where can we do that?

My Facebook Vard Art Rose. Instagram Vard_art_rose, I also have a YouTube channel Vard_art _Rose.

How personal is the basis of your work? Do you always create from personal motivation?

Sometimes it's a personal motivation to create something beautiful, sometimes it's an order. But even when the customer wants something specific, I have the freedom to add my own style, my colors, my point of view on this picture.

What do you think has changed the concept of art projected for each generation, and if so, how?

Has changed a lot over time. in every epoch art spoke about something, rebelled. Nowadays art is very wide, but something that has come for centuries. Before there was no internet and as much information as now, but great works were created. Now every second person imagines himself to be a person of art. now it is easy to learn and sees everything and everyone. Although it also has its pluses.

Is there a work, perhaps recognition, that you are especially proud of?

Yes, there is such work.

What expectations must be met by those who want to thrive as an artist in the future?

It is difficult to succeed as an artist. You need to work out maximum energy and work. It also depends on the society the artist is in. Not everywhere is it possible to succeed as an artist. Society must be developed to appreciate this art.

How do you remember the initial wing rehearsals? Do you look back on your work as an enthusiastic "amateur"?

Yes, sometimes.

What content do you enjoy consuming in your free time?

To be honest, I'm not a fan of reading something. I like to watch movie.

How do you see people's attitudes towards art?

The attitude of people towards art in different countries is different. But it seems to me now people are busy with their daily affairs. This pandemic has greatly affected people.

How critical are you to your work?

There are old works that I want to earn. An artist always wants to improve his work because it is impossible to always do everything perfectly. There are always some new thoughts, or with time the picture I drew earlier will become unpleasant. Probably from time to time and skill will be added. To be honest, it is much more important what emotional impact your paintings have on the viewer. But I like to criticize myself.

For many creative people, it can be observed that their careers can be broken down into epochs. Looking back on your career so far, do you have them, and if so, what eras?

No, I do not think so. For this I am still young.

How long does an image take to shape between your hands? When is a drawing ready for you? (although I know it depends on a lot...)

The process can take several days or even several weeks. Before starting work, I do not know what I will draw, this is processed in the process of work and in the process a lot can change the colors, shape, meaning of the picture, the sensations that I want to convey.

Each creator can usually name at least one person whom he considers a mentor who has had a great influence on him. Can you tell us a little bit about this?

My parents, as well as the artist Neger Degas, greatly influenced my art. Although he painted ballerinas and people in the cafe. But I have always admired his work. When we were at university, we studied the work of many artists, but I have always loved his work. How he set light and transparency. Created with olives paints and pastels.

What are you doing when you do not work on a drawing because your days go by? What are your goals? What other things do you care about? Do you have another hobby?

I want people to know about my art. I want to achieve success in my profession. Yes of course I have a hobby. I like to cook. I like to make videos to show people the process of their work. Unless of course it can be considered a hobby.

How does your lifestyle affect your social relationships? Where do you have so much energy from for so many things?

I also go to the gym. It is more necessary for health. Since the artist's life is sedentary and health problems may arise over time. I try to combine business with pleasure. Sport makes me hardy. I strongly advise everyone.

Do you think art is a better tool for networking?

Indeed art is a very interesting and important article for networking, beccause internet has become an essential tool in all areas life, and today we take the opportunity to make ourselves known and ours works known to other's artistic all over the world while staying put.

How do you see similarities or even differences between artists from different countries or the reactions they evoke?

I do not think that it depends on the country, even 2 artists from one country are very different. One has to ask what influenced this particular art or person. Not only culture has influence, but also the environment, nurture his personal interests. For example, the reaction to my art is much more intense among American or European artists. For example my works have nothing to do with the works of other Armenian artists. But similar to American art.

How do you see the possibilities of artistry in cyberspace? Can we create spaces where a virtual identity can convey its own artistic content?

I would say with certainty that art and artists, regardless of their different specialties, have a very important place in the world of cyberspace. The internet has become a planetary means of communication, suddenly it is a great opportunity for artists to discover, meet, exchange, work, but above all to show the world their works. Thanks to the internet for example I am able to sell my works all over the world, and there is still a few years back that this did not exist.

Of course that yes, we can, and I believe that this already exists between several artists.

Do you still see that you have made the right decision to choose this path?

Art is my life. This is what I love the most. This is the air for the artist.

If you could have a super ability, what would you choose?

I'm realist. I never thought about it.

If you could go anywhere, where would you most like to go?

Italy to see the works of Michelangelo.

Are you a designer, a goal-setting artist, or do you trust your destiny that everything will always be achieved at the right moment anyway?

We ourselves create our destiny.

How do you envision your life in 10 years?

In 10 years I see myself as the manager or director of an international art gallery, and if possible why not mine. It is a project that is very close to my heart.
